Good questions
Round bag, chop bag, or a hit shield?
A round tackle bag suits basic wrap-and-drive technique work. A chop (square) bag sits lower, built for low-tackle technique.
A wedge or wave hit shield is for a coach or teammate to hold and absorb contact, used for hit-and-drive and body-position drills rather than a grounded tackle. A tackle ring is smaller and round, usually for jackal/breakdown practice.
What size does my age group need?
Manufacturers tier by age, mini, junior, youth/intermediate, senior, and sometimes jumbo/XL for senior squads training at volume. We show a product's stated age group and weight where published; check your own club or league's own age-grade guidance rather than relying on the label alone.
